Scooter & Wheelchair Lift Reimbursement Programs
Wheelchair and Electric Scooter Lift Reimbursement Programs
While Medicare and Medicaid don't reimburse for electric wheelchair or electric scooter lifts and transport devices, you may able to get reimbursement through your vehicle's manufacturer. Toyota, GM and Ford have programs in place that may reimburse you when you add mobility equipment. You also may be able to get reimbursement when you lease a vehicle from these companies, or when you purchase other types of mobility equipment. Each program has slightly different requirements, so check with the individual companies at the numbers and websites listed below or call our vehicle lift specialist for help and information.
Ford-up to $1,200 reimbursement
You can contact Ford at 1-800-952-2248, or 1-800-565-8986 in Canada. You can also find more information about their mobility reimbursement program at Ford's website.
GM-up to $1,000 reimbursement
Driver controls and some other types of equipment may also qualify in GM's reimbursement program. You can contact GM directly at 800-323-9935, or 800-263-3777 or 905-644-6624 in Canada. You can also visit GM's website.
