Prepare For The Delivery Of Your Lift Chair
Preparing for the delivery of your lift recliner is as important as the choice of the right lift chair. You should plan ahead to make sure delivery and set up can happen easily and problem free. Those with limited mobility will want to take extra time to make sure getting the chair indoors won't be a problem. When you're expecting a lift chair delivery, you should be aware of the following issues:
Delivery refusal. There are penalty fees that are added to the cost if a delivery is refused. It's rare that a situation occurs where a delivery that's no longer wanted can't be stopped in advance. Because we pay to have the chair shipped, we incur a double charge for shipping it back if it's refused. Should you refuse the delivery, this charge will be passed on to you. It's simple to avoid this, however, by contacting us before the item is shipped to discuss any problems or delays.
Your door's width. The box that your lift chair comes in needs to be able to fit through the door. The size of the box can vary from square to rectangular. You should measure the door to be sure the box will fit if you have not purchased the option to have it set up for you, so that you can at least have the delivery driver bring it inside. They will leave it outside if it won't fit, and you'll want to avoid that. Call us at 1 (800) 346-1699 so our lift chair specialist can give you the carton size of your chair so you can avoid any potential problems.
Box disposal. If you set up your lift chair on your own, you'll end up with a box that could be quite large that you'll need to dispose of. These boxes are sturdier than standard cardboard boxes and won't crush or break down very easily. If you have any doubt about your ability to dispose of the box, purchasing the set-up service can take care of this problem for you.
Steps, upper floors and floor plans. Delivery drivers aren't required to take a lift chair up to a second floor. Nationwide, any cartons that require a dolly or a helpful device to transport don't have to be taken up any stairs at all. Let us know in advance if there are steps so we can advise you, and you can avoid having the carton left outside.
