Riser Recliners
Riser Recliners are recliners that are designed to help someone who has difficulty getting up or out of a standard recliner. The chair itself has a lifting mechanism that will move the entire recliner into an up and forward position. This makes for the person to be able to get into a standing position much easier.
Riser recliners can be categorized by the number and types of positions to which they are able. These positions include: two position, three position, infinite position, and zero gravity. A two position riser recliner can recline from an upright position to approximately a 45 degree angle. Three position riser recliners can recline from upright to an almost flat or sleeping position. Infinite position riser recliners have to ability to recline to a flat position and the footrest can be used independently from the backrest. Zero gravity riser recliners are similar to infinite position recliners, but also allow for positions that are more conducive for people with back problems, poor circulation, or reduced lung capacity.
